1st Mothers Day

So for my 1st Mothers Day, Christopher, Cody and I went to the Olympic Coast and hiked The Point of Arches.  That is a hike that I have wanted to do for some years now.  This Mothers Day overwelmed me though.....  The two gifts that I recieved (one from Christopher and one from my mother) were overwelming and the SWEETEST gifts I could ever be given.  Christopher gave me our son.  I could not have made him without Christopher and everyday I'm reminded of the love that produced him.  My mother though......sigh.  Two weeks before mothers day Christopher and I figured out that we did not have the funds to go to the coast because of bills.  My mother swooped in before we cancelled our cabin reservations and said that she'd pay for our trip because she would like nothing more than to make my first mothers day, be all that I wished.  I still cry when I think of her doing this....  It was a GREAT weekend and was exactly what Christopher and I needed after the last couple of months.  Thank you SO much Mama,  I love you more than words can say!!!!!!  Thank you for making my Mother's Day perfect!!

This photo and the one above are at Whale Trail at sunset.

Grandma's Gift

So for my Grandmother's 79th birthday and Mother's Day I obtained a 10x13 inch photo of the photo shoot we did when Cody was two weeks old.  I bought a simple picture frame and then bought two mattes (white on white and black on black) and cut them to size for the photo.  I got a photo mattes cutter for Easter and I see SOOOOO many projects in my future at a much cheaper dollar sign.  I know that'll make my husband happy!  Anyways, after cutting the mattes to fit the photo and frame I went to Ben Franklin's vinyl shop and had a custom made vinyl cling (yes I made up the saying on the picture all by myself!)  made to fit the mattes and frame perfectly,  then I applied the vinyl.  My friend and super crafty wizard Sonja told me to just use my cricket to make the vinyl cling, but I didn't like any of the font cartridges that I had for it... May have to remedy that.... =)  Simple project and cost a total of $30.  Sure beats $230 that JoAnn Fabrics charged my mother for the same thing (well they made the frame to fit)!!  I know that my grandmother will love it and I can't wait to give it to her tomorrow.....

Mother's Day Cards Part 2

So here are the rest of the cards that I made laskweekend.  I think they turned out quiet well.  I've even gotten a jump start on the Fathers Day cards and some birthday cards.  Am I on a roll or what?!?!?! =)  Hope you're all haveing an AWSOME week and that life is treating you kindly.....

This was the front of the envelope of the above card.

Okay so this isn't a Mother's Day card, but my Aunts birthday is ON Mother's Day... I Love you Aunty Woo Woo!!!!

These are some handmade soaps for Chris's aunts.  Thought the little gift tags turned out really well.  Simple but yet cute.  LOVE the tags I made for the moms and grandmas!!

Mother's Day Cards

So I was a busy girl this past weekend and made  a bunch of Mother's Day cards and gift tags.  I SOOO love crafting!!!!  So here are a couple of the cards I made.  I can't show them all to you right now because I think a couple of you are soon to be recipients of them! =)  But I promise to show them all to you within the next week!  I am slowly but surly bringing out more of my creative side on cards, as I never really made any before.  Let me know what you think!!!

I used my Just Right stamps for all the stamping.  I LOVE all the endless possibilities with them and if I could would get enough to write whole paragraphs with them!!  They are truly as endless as your imagination!

This is the front of the envelope for the above card.

This was the first time that I made paper Rosetta's.  I made it with my Martha Stewart box/envelope maker.  I SO love that thing!! I definitely see many possibilities with it!  Thank you Sonja for telling me about it last year, you are SOOO my little Miss Crafty!!!
My Cricut of with out a doubt one of the 4 most used and valued crafting items that I posses.  I love looking at the cartridges and then trying to put them into different ideas and spins in my head for everything from cards, scrap-booking, home decor, gift tags and even picture frame embellishing. There are 4 more cartridges that I want and then I think I'll be good (at least for a while right). lol =)

The inside of every one of these have a family photo that was taken that day (Saturday) and most have a paper insert cut smaller and paper punched edges for the note.  I really got into it.  I really want to thank my husband for putting up with and not saying anything at all about the total take over of the dinning room table/kitchen island/coffee table/ and tv tray for this endeavor!!!! I love you honey!!!!!!!!!!

Burlap Frenzy

So as some of you know, I am on a burlap frenzy!!!  I just recently saw something with burlap and have kinda gone off the deep end! lol =)  So lastnight I went and adheared burlap to multiple peieces of photo matting (yes it took me allllllllllllllllllllll night to get all the glue off my fingers!!)  But I think it was worth it.  Thank you SOOO much Sonja for giving me a hand with which glue to get, I know I appear to be the lady who NEVER leaves Ben Franklin!! =)  So, I put this photo frame together while munchkin slept lastnight and I'm actually quite pleased with it.  I know that these pictures have a lot to be desired, but if you look at it in person I think you'll like it too.  Instead of the typical desending down to the photo that all photo mats create, this ascendes up from the burlap.  I painted some foam mat black and then attacheted the photo to the foam and the foam to the burlap, walla!!!! Just getting started.......
